What Is The Starbucks Pink Drink Recipe?

Before I take you through the recipe—I’ll tell you a little bit about the original Pink Drink.

The Starbucks Pink Drink took the world by storm, with it’s hint of sweet, beautiful pink color, and refreshing taste! The official recipe remains a closely guarded secret but Starbucks enthusiasts and fans have attempted to recreate the popular beverage.

While yes, I am an huge fan of the original—this is my healthier take on the recipe.

If you’re looking for the original Starbucks Pink Drink recipe, it’s said to be made with 3 ingredients as well. These ingredients 3 include—acai berry tea, creamy sweetened coconut milk and simple syrup.

The difference in my version is it’s made using only natural sweetener, unsweet coconut milk, and the passion tea flavor.

Here’s How To Make It

My favorite thing about crafting my own Pink Drink is the simplicity of the ingredients, the ease of preparation, and how closely the flavor mimics the original Pink Drink.

To create this pink dream of a drink, you will need to first decide whether you’re going to use the passion tea concentrate, or tea bags. The concentrate is easier because it’s premade and already cooled. The tea bags are a great option as well and will end up being cheaper than the concentrate. You can buy both at most grocery stores—I can always find both products at Walmart!

If you’re brewing the passion tea bags, add 1/2 cup of boiling water to a cup with 3 tea bags. Let it cool to room temperature. This makes the tea very concentrated. Meanwhile, gather your other key ingredients: coconut milk, and maple syrup!

Next, you’ll fill a glass with frozen raspberries, strawberries or ice cubes. I like to use frozen raspberries instead ice cubes to cool the drink. If you’re more of a strawberry fan, use frozen strawberries. You can use any frozen fruit you like. Ice cubes will work just fine as well.

In another glass, you’ll add your tea, coconut milk, and maple syrup. Stir the mixture well, then pour over the frozen raspberries.

The Secret to a Perfect Pink Drink

The secret to the signature Pink Drink lies in the addition of a creamy coconut milk or coconut cream. Coconut cream is rather high in calories, so if you’re looking for a more indulgent and creamy drink use the coconut cream. If you don’t want as many calories, use coconut milk from a carton. I typically go with regular coconut milk. My favorite brand to use is So Delicious vanilla unsweetened.

To balance the flavors and add a touch of sweetness, incorporate the maple syrup. I suggest using 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. If you want the drink sweeter, add more. If you want it less sweet, add less.

For a decorative touch, you can garnish your Pink Drink with frozen raspberries (or strawberries if you’d prefer), elevating both the aesthetic appeal and the fruity essence of the drink.

The frozen raspberries or strawberries do really bring a fun element to the drink! The best part is, you don’t have to worry about finishing the drink in a timely manner because the berries aren’t adding extra water to the drink! Making them the perfect ice cubes!

How Can I Make This Recipe My Own?

While this Starbucks Pink Drink Healthy Copycat recipe provides a close approximation, in my opinion the joy lies in experimenting and adjusting the ingredients to suit your personal taste preferences! This will be sure to give you the ultimate experience you’re looking for!

I know I said this recipe is versatile, so if you aren’t a fan of the passion tea flavor—you can use any favorite tea flavor of yours. I’ve used green tea, an orange tea, even chai tea in this recipe.

The type of milk. When I make this drink, I personally like to use coconut milk from a carton. Again, completely up to you. If you’re looking for a creamier consistency and more indulgent treat, use coconut cream. If you’re not a fan of coconut milk—use any kind of milk or alternative milk you like.

Lastly, the touch that ties it all together—maple syrup! If you aren’t a fan of maple syrup, there are many other natural sweeteners. Some of my favorites include honey, date syrup, or agave.
