How to Make Banana Snickers with Date Caramel

These Banana Snickers bites are simple, so good, and you only need a handful of ingredients! The secret ingredient is definitely the date caramel—so let’s get started!✨

Banana Snickers Ingredients

  • Bananas
  • 10 Dates pitted
  • 3/4 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 2 Cups Chocolate Chips melted
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
Banana snickers ingredients.

Step-By-Step Instructions

We’ll first make the secret ingredient—date caramel. Blend the pitted dates, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 cup of peanut butter in a food processor or blender until smooth and creamy. This mixture makes the caramel layer, and in my opinion—it’s the best part!

I like to use a silicone mold, but a mini muffin tin will work fine as well. Add a thin layer of melted chocolate to the bottom of each mold section, and gently swirl it to cover the base evenly. This chocolate base will hold all the delicious layers together! Place a slice of banana on top of the chocolate layer in each mold. Then, spoon a dollop of the date caramel on top of the banana slice, followed by a small scoop of peanut butter.

Pour a layer of melted chocolate over each section to seal in the layers. Give the mold a gentle shake to ensure the chocolate coats each bite evenly.

Place the mold in the freezer for at least 15 minutes or until the chocolate is set. Once firm, pop each bite out of the mold and enjoy your homemade Banana Snickers with Date Caramel!

Why You’ll Love These Banana Snickers

These Banana Snickers are absolutely incredible. You get the best of both worlds: the taste of a classic Snickers bar and the goodness of natural, healthy, and refined sugar free ingredients. Unlike traditional candy bars, this recipe uses real food ingredients to recreate the beloved Snickers bar we all know and love. Creamy peanut butter, gooey date caramel, and melted chocolate pair perfectly with fresh banana slices to make each bite indulgent and satisfying to that sweet tooth!

Here’s what makes my Banana Snickers with Date Caramel recipe so perfect

Nutty and Creamy: The peanut butter adds a creamy texture and nutty taste, creating a balanced flavor with the sweetness of dates, bananas, and creamy chocolate. When the cravings hit, they hit hard—and when I something sweet, it has to be something satisfying. And let me tell you—this treat is satisfying and definitely checks all the boxes!

Naturally Sweetened: Dates and bananas add a natural sweetness without any refined sugar, & use your favorite refined sugar free chocolate chips, or opt for a dairy-free variety for a vegan option. I always use Lily’s chcocolate chips or the HU dark chocolate gems.

Easy to Make & Freeze: These bites store well in the freezer, so you can always have a batch on hand for quick snacks! This also helps a ton with healthy eating and definitely makes me stay on track when I have a naturally sweetened sweet treat on hand!

Tips for Making the Best Banana Snickers

Choose Ripe Bananas: Ripe bananas add extra sweetness and creaminess, which balances the salty peanut butter and rich chocolate.

Adjust the Sweetness: If you want a sweeter caramel, add a little bit of maple syrup or honey when blending.

Choice of Chocolate: I go back and forth between dark or milk chocolate, but feel free to use whatever you prefer!

Use a Silicone Mold: Silicone molds make it easy to shape each Banana Snickers bite and pop them out when they’re frozen. You can also try mini muffin liners if you don’t have a mold on hand.
