The Origin of the Blueberry Bliss & Coconut Cloud Combo ☁️

The Blueberry Bliss Tropical Smoothie is a healthy and fun twist on smoothies from both Tropical Smoothie Café & Erewhon Market.

The smoothie portion is a healthier copycat recipe of the Blueberry Bliss Smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Café. It’s one of their signature smoothies made with blueberries, strawberries, bananas, ice, and turbinado sugar. I made a few changes to enhance its flavor and nutritional value. To do this, I replaced turbinado sugar with maple syrup for a refined sugar free sweetener and used frozen fruit instead of adding any ice! I think this gives the smoothie a creamier consistency. I also added coconut milk to maker the smoothie even more creamy, delicious, and to add that “tropical” twist!

When it comes to the Coconut Cloud Cream and Berry Compote portion, I was inspired by the beautiful and viral smoothies from Erewhon Market that look like absolute masterpieces! The two smoothies that inspired this recipe are their Coconut Cloud & Strawberry Glaze smoothies. I combined ideas from these two picturesque drinks to make my own perfect treat!

Coconut Cream vs. Coconut Milk

Coconut milk and coconut cream are both derived from the flesh of coconuts, but they are different when it comes to their consistency and fat content. The milk is made from the extracted liquid of the coconut fruit. It has a thinner consistency and lower fat content compared to coconut cream. Coconut cream, on the other hand, is made in a similar way but with less water, resulting in a thicker, creamier texture with a higher fat content.

Fun Variations to Try!

Feel free to customize this recipe to fit your preferences. Here are some ideas:

  • Use your favorite fruits, such as pineapple or mango, to add a tropical twist.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt in place of the coconut milk for a creamier texture and added protein.
  • Try topping your smoothie with peanut butter or almond butter.
  • Add seeds, such as chia, flax, or hemp seeds, for an extra nutritional boost.
  • Incorporate spinach or other greens for added vitamins and fiber.

My Favorite Blender

The Vitamix! It is truly a powerhouse blender and a must have appliance, in my opinion!

The Vitamix has a high-powered motor that blends nearly everything! From nuts, veggies, seeds, and frozen fruits, it gives any ingredient a smooth and creamy texture when blended. It’s made with high-quality materials that can withstand years of daily use. It’s very versatile in the kitchen. From smoothies, soups, nut butters, hummus, sauces, & frozen desserts—I’ve made it all. It’s so easy to clean. The Vitamix also has a self-cleaning function (I just found this out & it’s a game changer). All in all, it’s the most amazing blender.
